The Saqqara Bird is a bird-shaped artifact made of sycamore wood, discovered during the 1898 excavation of the Pa-di-Imen tomb in Saqqara, Egypt. It has been dated to approximately 200 BCE, and is now housed in the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Cairo. The Saqqara Bird has a wingspan of 180 mm (7.1 in) and weighs 39.12 g (1.380 oz). Some have suggested that the Saqqara Bird may represent evidence that knowledge of the principles of aviation existed many centuries before such are generally believed to have first been discovered.
Elevation - 9219 feet (2810 metres) Mount Roraima is also known as Cerro Roraima and Tepuy Roraima. It is the highest of the Pakaraima chain of tepui plateau in South America. This mountain was first described by the English explorer Sir Walter Raleigh in 1596. According to him its summit area is 31 square kilometres which is defended on all sides by tall cliffs rising 1300 feet (400 metres). This mountain is the triple border point of Venezuela, Brazil and Guyana. The tabletop mountains of the Canaima National park are considered some of the oldest geological formations on Earth, dating back to some 2 billion years ago in the Precambrian.
Balåifossen is a waterfall in the river Balåi in Ulvik municipality of Hordaland , on the southeast side of Osafjorden . It has three vertical and the longest of which is 452 meters. The falls are mainly water from melting snow on Kyrelvfjellet over the falls, and it can therefore be completely dry in summer and autumn. The falls are best viewed from the road on the other side of the fjord. Balåifossen has a total drop of 850 meters, and according to the World Waterfall Database thus the second highest waterfall in Norway and Europe, and the seventh highest waterfall in the world.
